What is the best paper weight for envelopes?

The correct envelope for paper up to 20 lb. should be one step heavier than the paper. For example, the proper envelope to use with a 20 pound paper would be one made from 24 pound paper.

What is GSM envelopes?

GSM stands for 'Grams Per Square Meter' and means the amount of grams a single sheet of paper weighs measuring 1m x 1m. Paper that is used to manufacture envelopes generally start at thin 70 gsm all the way to up to a much thicker 180 gsm paper. These envelopes are generally cheap.

How do you seal envelopes?

The easiest way to seal with water is by using an envelope moistener, which is basically a small bottle of water with a sponge at the end. To use an envelope moistener, simply flip the bottle so the sponge side is facing down. Squeeze the bottle lightly and run the adhesive on the envelopes.
